Well I’m finally back in the land of Blogging. I thought I would share a recent demo I made on “Create & Craft” this week, when we launched our new Kanban kit “Denim and Lace” It is a beautiful kit full of owls, lace, denim, flowers, buttons and hearts. This is a wall/window hanging that I made on the show. The frame is made using a sheet of 300gsm card that has been cut into 8 length ways, at 1 inch intervals. These have then been covered on one side with a strip of background card cut slightly smaller. I have glued 4 strips together – with the background patterned card on the reverse – at the overlap in each corner. I then attached a piece of acetate 7 inches square on the inside of the frame. The frame is then finished off with another 4 pieces of matching covered card on top of the acetate. I then attached a topper in the middle of the acetate – the acetate gives the illusion that the topper in the centre of the frame is floating. To finish the hanging off, I added a few flowers, buttons and a sentiment on top of the frame. If you want to use the frame as a window hanging, then attach another topper on the rear of the frame as it will be seen from both sides. I love this kit. It is cheerful, has lots of embellishments, the owls are sweet and it is a delight to work with. I hope you like it as much as I do x
