Just for you

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAJust for you – An A5 card using papers from the Craftwork Cards “Al Fresco” pad. It is such pretty, bright pad – so cheerful. I have used parts of several papers to mat and layer on this card to continues the cycling theme that has been a major part of our summer this year. The “Tour De France” starting in Yorkshire this year has given everyone a great sense of community here, along with a renewed interest in cycling. We have had a wonderful summer this year, and while it is still here, I’m grabbing it with both hands x

Seagull on Guard

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn A5 card using the Craftwork Cards “Harbour Boulevard” paper pad. I have used a piece from one of the sheets to create a topper which I have edged with Chipped Saphire Distress ink and navy card. I have used glossy accents on the seagull and the rope around the anchor to make them stand out on the topper. The backgrounds are from 2 other sheets from the pad which I have layered and edged with navy card and Chipped saphire distress ink. I used some dark brown hessian/jute ribbon behind the topper for contrast, but also because I think it goes so well with this lovely seaside pad. Two buttons tied with twine to embellish and there you have it. I think this pad is gorgeous – so clean and crisp, wonderful for mens cards, and brings back memories from my childhood growing up in a seaside town. Hope you like this pad as much as I do x

Red, White and Blue

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe card I made for my Daughter-in-laws Birthday this year. It is an 8 x 8 card made using the “Kitsch” Collection. I think the blue, white and red half of this collection is so bright, clean and contemporary, and I love the range of cards etc that can be made with it. Some of the elements on the card were already die-cut, some I cut free hand and some I cut out using my Grand Calibur machine. I was very happy with the card and so was my Daughter-in-law, and I hope you like it too x

Flying High

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn A5 card made using Craftwork Cards “Flying High” kit. The topper is actually cut from a sheet of the 8 inch paper pad and covered in micro beads to give it a different look. I often like to use Micro beads on toppers as I really like the effect it gives. I’ve used a little distress ink – Barn Door – around the edges of the banners. I love the colours in this collection and think the combination of the red and Jade green, give a very striking card with a strong, modern inpact. I also think the collection and this card would work well for both male and female x

A little bit of allsorts

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn A5 card made with a little bit of allsorts. The base and one of the layers are Kraft card, which I have embossed with one of Sheena Douglas’s embossing folders and distressed a little with Walnut distressing ink. The blue layer is white card that has been embossed with a bark effect embossing folder and then distressed with Peacock Feathers distressing ink. The 3 flowers are made out of waxed kraft paper – 6 layers punched and then scrunched up before securing with blue brads. The tag is from the Craftwork Cards “Botanica” tag pad. Ever wondered what to do with all those little hanging ribbons that you cut out of your clothes – bunch several different ones together and tie onto a tag – I think its very effective. The little butterfly is one of Brenda Waltons from K & Company. A couple of buttons and a few gems to finish off x

A Butterfly Kiss

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA card I made for my Step-mums birthday this month. She absolutely adores butterflies so I always put a butterfly on her card, or as in this case, its all butterflies. The butterflies are all double cut from Craftwork Cards “Kitsch” Collection and layered, with 2 self adhesive yellow pearl in their centre. I set them out like this because I thought the 5 butterflies set out like this resemble a kiss. Hope you like it x
