The Ultimate in Papercraft

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

A visit to the Hobbycraft show at the NEC in Birmingham last Saturday to lead a workshop for Kanban, along with our lovely DT member Denise Holmes. We used our latest, lovely┬ákit “Denim and Lace”. It was great fun and even had chance to look around and Buy a few things – well you can’t not, can you, lol. I was absolutely in awe of this wonderful display in the entrance, made entirely out of paper. Absolutely amazing. Has to be the ultimate in papercrafting x

Christmas Trees

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAJust a quick post sharing a sample I made for the recent Kanban shows on Create and Craft. I wanted to make a wreath, but decided to do one that was a little different from a door wreath. I’ve used an MDF wreath for the base of a Christmas Table wreath. I covered it in little bits of backing papers from the “Evergreen” paper pad – bits I had left over from making other samples and then used die-cut circles from the pad to make the trees. The trees are a nice an easy make, but very effective – just fold the circles equally across 8 times and then fold in alternating mountain and valley folds to form the trees. To make taller trees use a kebab stick in the centre and layer the trees to whatever height you want them. I made a sentiment banner for the front, added some shaved ice for snow and some clear plastic “ice” and then sprayed with a little glitter spray. This gives a nice sparkly finish and also gives a bit more strength to the paper trees.Thank you for stopping by and hope you like it x

A 6 x 6 card made at a recent Make and Take at a Craftwork Cards event in Leeds.

I love the colours in this collection – they all co-ordinate beautifully and are so refreshing in this heat. I love making these flowers – so simple, but so effective. Hope you like it x
