Back in 5 Minutes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA 6 x 6 card using some JOFY stamps on some watered Distress Ink background. I’ve painted in the flowers with Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed distress inks using a water brush. The sentiment is from Indigo Blu – only I think it would be more apt for me to say – “out of my mind …. never coming back”. I edged the topper with Salty Ocean distress ink and then I’ve mounted the topper up on mats and layers of Turquoise blue and basket weave yellow.. Thank you for taking the time to look and I hope you like it x

Flying High

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn MDF door hanger painted with blue acrylic paint and decorated with pearlescent texture paste using one of Aspire Crafts kite stencils and the bunting stencil. The pearlescent texture paste has been coloured with a little dark green acrylic paint and had some small glass micro beads to give it a further point of difference. I think it works very well. I’ve added the name “BEN” using some of the Aspire Crafts Dekromounts, which have been left white for contrast. Hope you like it x

Pink Roses, Blue Butterflies

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA 6 x 6 tent card made using the Graphic 45 “Botanical Tea” Collection. I’ve distressed it a little by roughing round the edges as this collection can be used to make both very contemporary or vintage style cards. The colours in this collection are lovely and there is a lot of different subjects within the collection to make many different types and styles of card. I added a little Stickles to the rose on the topper for a bit of sparkle. Hope you like it x

It’s a New Day

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn A5 card to cheer us up during this awful August weather. I’ve used a Wendy Vechi – Studio 490 stamp, stamped with Seedless Preserve and Picked Raspberry Distress inks onto a Distress Ink watered background. I’ve used fuschia pink and white waffle weave to mat and layer and mount the stamped topper on. It gives it a lovely clean and crisp look, which I like as it shows off the stamping better. Hope you like it and hopefully it will cheer your day now the sunshine has disappeared x

Love ART

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is the little paper bag Art Journal that I made in March on Leoni Pujols workshop in Bridlington. I hadn’t quite finished it when we left and now that I havE, I thought I would share it with you. The chipboard letters on the front have different effects on them. They have all been coloured with pro-markers and then the A has been glttered with 2 different colours, The R has been sprinkled with bronze and clear embossing powders and heat embossed, and the T has been gilded with “Morris Dance” gilding flakes. The other pics show some of the techniques we played around with during the course of the workshop. They include water ink stamping, micro beads over stamping, water and ink painting with distress inks, water bleaching stamped images, different glitters, gilding wax on embossed card and stamping into warm, heated Angelina. Hope you like them x

Make a Wish

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnother gorgeous Seaside kit – this time from Graphic 45. Its called “Beside the Sea”. Although it is a very colourful collection, I wanted to focus on the blue for this card, so chose a blue mat for both the background and the topper. I love the little topper with its saying “Make a wish on a Starfish”. The whole collection goes together so well – the little shells on the background sheet to cut out, the stamps and the little toppers. I used the string and the peacock blue spiders web to give it a bit of an organic feel and am very pleased with the overall effect and how it all came together. Hope you like it too x

Seagull on Guard

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn A5 card using the Craftwork Cards “Harbour Boulevard” paper pad. I have used a piece from one of the sheets to create a topper which I have edged with Chipped Saphire Distress ink and navy card. I have used glossy accents on the seagull and the rope around the anchor to make them stand out on the topper. The backgrounds are from 2 other sheets from the pad which I have layered and edged with navy card and Chipped saphire distress ink. I used some dark brown hessian/jute ribbon behind the topper for contrast, but also because I think it goes so well with this lovely seaside pad. Two buttons tied with twine to embellish and there you have it. I think this pad is gorgeous – so clean and crisp, wonderful for mens cards, and brings back memories from my childhood growing up in a seaside town. Hope you like this pad as much as I do x

Butterfly Blue

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn 8 x 8 card with just a hint of colour. I have used 2 different sizes of Tonic dies to create the die-cut circles, (the centre circle has been mounted up with 3d foam), which I have backed with Silver holographic mirri card. The flowers are 2 different sizes of flower punches, 5 of which have been layered up, with a turquoise gem in the centre of each. I added the die cut blue butterfly for a focal point with a shot of colour. Hope you like it x

Standing Tall

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAnother A5 stamped card using the “JOFY” flower stamps. These are most definately my favourite type of stamped cards to create at the moment. I really enjoy creating these backgrounds with Distress Inks, stamped straight onto my glass mat and sprayed with water before pressing my background card into it. You never quite know what you are going to get until you turn the card over, so its always a surprise – usually a nice one. It is very rare that I don’t like the effect. I think the 3 inks I used for the background were – Fire Brick?, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed. I stamped the image with a brown Archival ink and then coloured it in with Fire Brick using a water pen. To finish I edged the whole image with Fire Brick for definition before matting and layering and mounting with 3d foam. Hope you like it x
